cross-sections was an installation created at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in the summer of 2004. The music is generated in real-time by a Pd patch. Three basic sound processes happen at differing time-interval parameters. Slides of paintings created by Liliana Menéndez, an artist from Argentina, were projected in the gallery space, while the actual works were hung in the same space. The installation was designed to run in the gallery space ad infinitum. The music in the example below was recorded from the patch, though in the actual installation, it is never exactly the same each time it is run.
